that would mean the iac is fine then if it surged when you unhooked it even idling. or the idle increase and decreased slowly.

pretty much you have to adjust the idle set screw so whatever amount of air is passing in will play friendly with the idle air controller settings on the rom..

ive been there done that.. im offering help because ive fixed this myself on my personal evo.. and yes its very annoying.

for the books the proper term for the sensor is a idle speed control servo.

you have to lock the sas actuator to hold the idle air controller in a frozen position while adjusted the idle screw so it doesnt alter its steps.

atleast the cars not stalling now though like it was before.. not only is that dangerous in traffic, but super annoying and hard on the starter.


in neutral if you rev the car to like 6000rpm and just let go of the gas does it dip below 1k etc?

also what timing in the idle area? and what rpm target in the ecu settings?
