clutch issue..please chime in

just installed an exedy twin. bled the clutch line till new blue fluid pulled through so i know there is absolutely 0 air in the line. I adjusted the clutch out as far possible.even moved the clutch switch stop thing out as far as possible so i could thread the rod till there were 0 threads left to see.. ie clutch pedal is adjusted as far out as possible so there is maximum force to release the TOB.

I have no problem shifting gears and its not anymore notchy then it was stock. i can get into first and reverse about as easy as before also.

This is what i am concerned about.. if i am in neutral just idling and push my shift lever toward first it makes a slight slight push forward. same thing with revers..now it does not continue to go forward while i hold it towards first...just at first makes a slight movement forward.

Does anyone else have this issue or know of a way to fix this problem?

That little bump is probably just inertia of the discs. Even with the TOB disengaged there is still enough fricition in the system to get the input shaft moving. If the clutch isn't grabbing the flywheel I wouldn't worry about it.

i have this exact same thing happening. i noticed it after i installed new tc. called jon at tre and he said to try this: push clutch in for about 5 seconds and then put it in gear. this keeps mine from doing it. he said it was due to imput shaft still spinning and mentioned something about a syncro having some wear or something. cant really remember exactly what all he said but did say to push the clutch in for a few seconds before putting car in gear as often as possible and i should be fine for a good while. one of those things i learned to live with. hope this helps

yea i dont think its sticking because it shifts pretty much the same as before, also i can hear the floater plate banging around when i press the clutch in so i don't think its hanging to much...anyone else out there have this issue?

I am confused why you are doing this...are you saying that if i hold the clutch in for a while that eventually something magical is going to happen and this will stop? ... i dont have trouble getting into gear..what i am saying is if i am just sitting in neutruel and i grab my shifter and push towards first my car makes like an inch push forward...

i dont have trouble putting mine in gear either. it will inch forward for about an inch and then stop. as long as i leave the clutch pressed i can then pull it out of gear and put it back in gear and it wont do it. only does it the first time i put it in gear after pushing in the clutch. the enertia from the clutch and flywheel spinning the input shaft is what causes it to try to move. pushing clutch in for a few lets imput shaft stop spinning

its just strange that when i had a stock clutch this never happened...it would not even be noticeable if i didn't try to put it in gear without the clutch just to see if it would pull forward...it only moves like an inch then will not go any further..I will start looking into this " inertia" theory.

well this issue made me think that i should try this on my DD and see if moves forward slightly if i push towards 1st gear with no clutch... and sure enough my elantra will do the same thing..it will move forward like a couple inches then stop. 110k on its stock clutch so i dont think anything is wearing out even tho this happens...hmmm
