Wtf bovvv

I recently bought the car and wasnt to sure how the BOV is setup but i think its been on the wrong way. Can anyone confirm? I flipped it around based off pictures of stock evos. i dont know what to expect. should it run better now...was power being robbed? i noticed some oil...little splat on the BOV inlet. Its probably been compressor surging the turbos pretty bad...how can i make sure the turbos aren't damaged? im not sure how long its been this way. It used to be loud and flutter like crazy...it even sounded cool but it didn't make sense for it to be that loud with a stock MR BOV. Can someone fill me in.

Yeah it is on there backwards. The gold "hat" should be pointing to the radiator. When you take it out it will be easier to see why it was making that sound. I am not as knowledgeable as many others on here (so please correct me if I'm wrong) but I am pretty sure your BOV wasn't working at all. The smaller silicone hose coming off of the uicp should be going into the BOV and the air flow will compress the spring inside the BOV. Looking into the BOV you will see one side you can see into the inside and the other looks almost like a plug. You should be able to push the "plug" in with your finger to make sure the spring inside isn't damaged and it still works.
Hope this helps but sounds like you did the right thing and switched it as soon as you could. You should notice a big difference in the way it runs and you will acually have full boost.

The PO should get a kick in the butt for that one though and we only have one turbo on our Evos.

So I flipped it and it's stopped fluttering the BOV is alot quieter. I don't know if it has more power or not but it's alot smoother. So was should I expect from setting it up correctly? Also when I punch it the boost goes up to about 1.3 BAR then back down to 1 BAR. Anything else I should be looking for?

pretty normal.. stock turbo cars tend to taper off boost towards the top..
