I tried to search this... god knows I have seen similar threads, but I wasn't able to find anything, so hear goes...

Quick question to the group...

What are the exact parts needed to put an Evo 9 turbo onto a 2003 Evo 8?

Thanks for your help!

Negative, you do not "need" to buy a kit.

With some bending and common sense you can make it work perfectly.

The only thing you actually need is a IX outlet pipe (J-Pipe) and actually you can get around that by torching and bending the VIII one out of the way of your starter solenoid.

Thanks guys!

I am trying to move quickly on a 9 turbo for sales and the guy told me, "it comes with everything you need"... so, i just wanted to make sure it really in fact had everything I would need.

Couldn't you just purchase a 10.5 hotside and accomplish the same thing? Or were you after the whole turbo setup?

you might as well buy one of the install kits since you will need the new gaskets when you swap the turbo.
