Never had it tested for power changes with the exhausts.

But some answers to your question.

Gawd man. You really HAVE been where I am.

That second link contains some hilarious posts. Or maybe they're only funny to me because of my frustration. Anyway, good info in there too.

For me, considering the re-tune I'm going to do, and likely keeping my GT35R in spite of my efforts to trade it out, I don't know if I want to go the stock route. Dammit!

I think I am tracking for the dual magnaflow at the moment, give it a shot, and only waste one attempt before going to the stock cat back.

Just putting a HFC was a good difference for me. I can't even imagine a stock CB.
Putting the 6" round Magnaflow in place of the TP and 7" back.
Let you know tomorrow. I hope 50% minimum less sound.

Please let me know. At this point, I'm considering trashing my Perrin CBE's resale and having the local exhaust guy put two magnaflows in. I have a couple of weeks maximum to get this thing quieted down so I can drive it. My wife is tired of all my garage queens and so am I in this case.

Just got back and you know what....... still too loud. NOT 50% less than Megan racing TP resonated and Greddy Evo2 rear section.
Pretty much not so happy with it. Even with the 2 Magnaflows it's still too loud. YES a bit less, less drone on the highway but not to justify the purchased + installation.....
AH well I will live with it for now.

Sorry no video.

My mechanic said that it will maybe quiet down a bit later but i doubt it.

Just buy something else

What a bunch of garbage! I was all set to get the mufflers and get it fabbed up next week. Oh well, you just saved me some money. So thanks for that. But it sucks royally that you didn't get it quiet.

Tell me about it...
I don't know if it's the combinaison of stainless with the twin magnaflow but it very far from quiet. I don't recommend it to anyone.
The Greddy Evo2 as even a small resonator between the TP and mufflet and it's still loud as hell.

I want to kick myself for doing it.
At least I removed my big tail pipe and painted black the rear section to help with the police.

Save your money for a quieter setup.

Doesnt make sense. The way your describing the 6" center magnaflow and 7" magnaflow rear is as if its loud as a muffler less system. Are you sure you dont have any exhaust leaks or are they really magnaflow mufflers and not some off brand?

Here is the double magnaflow exhaust that I had.

Idle, short rev to 2-2.5k rpms and drive off. Does your car sound like this?

Driving around and comparing to music. I also played some music for you so you can compare it to my stereo. At first I raised the volume to 23 then slowly turned it down to 14 just so you get an idea of how quiet the exhaust is. Notice how loud the music sounded compared to the exhaust.

And although its hard to determine how loud or quiet something is in person just from watching a video clip. Compare it to random sounds in the car. Example, turn signal sound, the oem transmission gear sound, tire/road noise, gear shifter and other random sounds.

Here was my list at the time:
Megan o2 housing, double magnaflow TBE, cone filter, mbc and tune.

I'm curious Polo Turbo, are you running aftermarket cams?

And it was not stock OEM quiet, but it was very mellow, neighbor friendly, police friendly, child in back seat approved etc... However I was looking for exact OEM quietness. And my current VT muffler setup pretty much oem like. To compare VT more accurately, its like running a downpipe testpipe with OEM catback.

Are you sure you don't have an exhaust leak at your downpipe or something?

OMG not even comparable I would love to have that exhaust. SOO MUCH quieter.

Yes Magnaflow 6" in place of test pipe and 7" round also in plce of the big Greddy can. I'ts stamped very big on there muffler so yws it's twin MAgnaflow.

Full setup:

SST ported turbo, 02 housing megan, DP Megan racing, Cams HkS 264/272.
NO exhaust leak to speak of. My mechanic as one of the fastest auto 4G63 :
#12 Serge Turcotte 8.471 169.02 5.576 132.48 1.406 GT42R No F. Villeneuve

He is a top builder and welder I assure you no leaks. He even said after we started the car up, ohh thats still loud....

We cut the two flanges from the Greddy exhaust and welded the 6" Magnaflow muffler in place of the Megan TP and did the same with the back muffler with the " Muffler.

The Greddy is full stainless and he said that stainless would be louder??
The Greddy CB as even like I said a small resonator in the back portion of the exhaust.
I don't know why mine is so much louder that yours with almost the same component.

Just trying too help anybody that's going that route with the SAME mods as me.

Is it the small cams?, Stainless GReddy Cb?, I just don't know but willing to try maybe later another Muffler even with less performance to have a quiet cabin.
