Anyone know the difference in the Exedy triples? SR and HR
Anybody know the difference from the 2 triples (cerametallic) that Exedy makes?
They got MMO23SR and MMO23HR
The HR is rated for roughly 120-150 lbs ft more holding capacity than the SR.
I need to decide in the morning which to get and want to know the differences, Either will hold my power but doesnt hurt to have more growing room if the only difference is a small increase in pedal effort.
Anyone know? one has the SD pressure plate and the better has the HD pressure plate maybe? The triple I just pulled out has the same pressure plate as the HD twin.
Thanks

If compare to my old hks twin plate ...
Its only a little bit heavier & i do daily drive it ...
So far so good ...

I read somewhere someone had an SD twin and wanted to upgrade to the hd twin so they emailed exedy to see if they would swap the the pressure plates and they said no they dont make the sd plates anymore and don't want it aha but idk
Either way I ordered the hr, and I found out its the same one that I just took out so I know it wont be annoying, except unless I get this disengagement problem AGAIN just like half the people on here with multiplate exedy's

It's the nature of the beast... there is always a compromise somewhere.
The idler plates can warp easily due to a lot of heat, especially in stop and go traffic. I know fomr experience I just had to rebuild a transmission over it because when the clutch was rebuilt one of the plates wasn't properly checked by the shop doing the work. Live and learn.

I'm going to check my plates with a straight edge tomorrow to see if I can see any warpage, I had adjusted the clutch so much that even if it was warped it still should have been plenty enough to disengage it enough to seperate any dragging plates.
Exedy says to stagger the gaps in the friction discs so they are not lined up all with each other but looks like they are in the second pic above ^^^^ Wondering why they marked it against their own advice? I just got my new triple with the hd pp and my gaps were staggered.
