it finally happened
so my motor finally took a dump on me and poke a hole thru it
, its time for new bottom end (shortblock), but i have 3K in budget, my goal is building a short block that can handle at least 500whp no problem, im only going for 550wheel, jus doing 2.0 built.... so chime in give me some advise on pistons, rods and other parts

3k budget is gonna be next to impossible. Is your head still in good shape.
Reason I say is because the same thing just happened to me. I got a really good deal on a brand new factory short block from King Mitsu. in gaithersburg MD for around $2500 and that was the best deal I could find(no core required). If you need head work add a minimum of a grand to that. Not to mention gaskets, oil pump water pump, timing components, fluids etc...it adds up super fast.
Luckily Im' doing mine myself and all said and done I'm at close to 5k, granted my intake valves got smashed so Im having Jackson Auto Machine build a stage 2 head. That adds about $1300.00 give or take.
So if depending on weather or not you do the work yourself, 3k is barely going to get you started.

Yeah, you're going to be spending at least a grand on various oem parts that should be replaced like the gaskets, belts, pumps, etc. It might be best to just start stocking up on parts before you get in over your head.
Good luck.
Good luck.
This is why I wont push my stock block. The damn core charges are waaaay to high!
If I were you, just pick up a used 8 block, buy the internals, and build it yourself. Easily be under the 3k budget.
