time for a new turbo

I'm so torn in what decision to make for my car. I'm currently coming off of a CBRD bbk full, sent the turbo back to chad to see if I could get the bbk-b upgrade and he informed me that the bearings where bad and the turbo was unusable. So now idk what to do now I'm torn between an fp red the bbk-b and thinking about leaving stock housing for the pte 5857. Would really appreciate any personal experience and input thanks in advanced

Yea out the blue started smoking a little around late Oct. Didn't think to to much of it. Then gradually got worse, will it never really smoked to bad and was like every once in awhile when I let off the throttle. Got around to pulling the turbo off early Dec turbo had some shaft play, but didn't know that it wasn't some thing thank couldn't be repaired at first.

From what Chad told me the BBK-Full to BBK-B upgrade requires basically all new internals anyway... so I would stick with your original plan to get a BBK-B. If you have a bunch of money to spend on a full turbo kit and you already have a built motor then go for it. Turbo kits on stock block are silly imo.

Also is it not worth getting a used core upgraded vs a new core upgrade.

Go with the BBK-B unless your pockets are deep then get a turbo kits. Either way CBRD has an option for you on that end as well. :P

To get the kit going won't cost me that much and as for the turbo it self, buddy of mine said he was about to put a big order in with pte gave me a pretty good price on the turbo it self. So probably cost.a couple hundred.more than one of these turbos. I'm not trying to make gobbs of power just enough to get by around 450-480 and have e85 so nothing to build the bottom end over .

For 450-480 whp you don't need a turbo kit. BBK-B or FP Black and call it a day.

Update : I sent my turbo to fp around the end of July to have the black upgrade then w week and a half later there were talks of a ball bearing upgrade so I call and they had not started on the turbo yet so I told them I wanted the bb upgrade so on Aug. 12 I received an email purchase order for 1 ball bearing fp ball, yesterday I call to check on progress and some one tells me that they my not be offering it as an upgrade but I could buy one new. So on the fence again I could still get a nd upgrade for(1500) new ones gonna cost (2500) then map ported mani+invida o2 housing will put me a little over (3k) so is it time for a t3 or vband

Goals r a little over 500hp
300hp before 4500 rpm
So what should I do now
