There's no point in running the black with 91 octane. The reason is because you can make the same power/torque, if not more, on a smaller turbo like a green or bbk with better spool up and response. The BBK Full or FP 73HTA Green is going to be the best bet for a stock replacement turbo on straight 91 octane. The new ATP turbo's are another option but there aren't that many examples of that setup yet.

You can hit 400 whp with meth and 91 on the stock ix turbo with the parts you have and are planning on adding (minus the black)........and your spool will be miles better. Buy the meth kit first if 93 or e85 is not available in your area.....it is compatible with any turbo.

spend the $$$$ there first so when you get a black your numbers won't suck. make fp look bad lol

If 400 hp is your goal on pump 91 no meth go hta fp green for great spool as well as your goal hp. Might I refer you to the map series turbos. They are new and still in the testing phase but still https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ve...g-program.html The FP Black is for those who do not mind substitute spool for peak horsepower gains which hurts street driveability but helps in the 1/4 mile. Good luck with your decision

Incorrect. A HTA GREEN is not gonna make the same power as a BLACK on 91oct. Maybe the same TQ, but defiantly not the same power.

I run a FP Black on just 91oct. Before the BLACK I had a RED, going to the BACK I made about 25 more HP.

Right now, I make 430hp (dynojet) on my BLACK and 91oct. And I am still using mild HKS cams. When I move to S2's or Kelfords, I should be making 450+ on 91oct. That would be 400 or maybe a lil more on a MD.

Also, a stock EVO IX turbo on E85 will just about make your goal.

you'll be fine on 91 octane with the black.

I ran an old school red on 91 @ 28psi & made 46x on a dj w/m2 cams on a evo8 stock block/head.

Peak numbers are great and all, but when did you hit full boost?

I hit full boost ie 27psi, at 4200-4400. My RED hit 27psi at 4000-4200. I would expect a GREEN to hit at 3800-4000. Not that much loss in spool for the power you gain, IMO.

You will not make significantly more power on the Black compared to a Green or BBK on 91. I'm pretty sure the BBK Full has the 91 octane power record for stock frame turbo.

An extra 15hp above 7k rpm isnt worth a 1000rpm loss in spool for me, no thanks.

I run the Black on 91oct 26psi and make around 400 DJ. It is laggy compared to my old 9 turbo i had but its not to bad full boost by 45xx rpm. I do plan on building a 2.3L thats why i choose the black over a BBK or HTA green. I also will be doing Meth injection after i can max out 91oct. I have basically same mods as OP except buddyclub 272's weaksauce cams and no ported mani stock TB and intake mani also i have a 8 with 105k so no mivec.
