Im not familar with AEM boost control, but if its anything like their AFR boost correction boost compensation tables, it will self adjust as well.. aem has some pretty neat features.

The AEM tru-boost does not require you to have a standalone. It is its own thing. Here is a link. I would actually consider one of these if I ever change from my greddy ebc.

So are you saying the AEM truboost does taper off like a MBC or it holds all the way? And I agree I dont see how a properly setup EBC would spool slower than a MBC.

I have aem ems that i just installed. I have to look into what it has for boost control. I had hydra ems on my sti and there were no temp comps for boost control, that was my big problem.

personally i prefer the stock ecu even tho the 2 step is weak as hell.. but if youre gonna run AEM EMS definitely set it to use the boost fuel correction table in a hybrid type boost comp..

pretty much you tune the fuel map at your boost level, then from there you can turn the boost up and it auto corrects the AFR

im sure it has something like that for boost control also.

I just use a Hallman MBC. I like that I can change it quickly if I want to without having to hook up my laptop. Was thinking about doing the GM solenoid with the AEM, but it just sounds like a PITA with little benefits to be had. If I had a monster setup running 700+ hp then I might consider it for boost by speed to try and help wheel spin in the first couple gears.

Boost by temperature sounds interesting, but if you are pushing your car that hard, you should probably just detune it and turn down the boost overall anyway. It would help as a safeguard though. It might have saved my head on a hillclimb I overheated on

my vote is for the grimspeed ebcs and ecu controlled boost. Using the temp tables properly and setting your target tables right you don't need to mess with it for temperature changes. Also it allows me to run the 2 boost maps and have my failsafe for methanol injection setup properly. I would have had to purchase a bypass kit to have a proper failsafe with a MBC
