Need help. No fuel pressure
Need help. No fuel pressure
Car was idling at a light and noticed my fuel pressure dropping. pulled into a parking lot and pressure started to go down slowly until it hit zero psi and now wont start. had to get it towed to my garage so ill dig into it tomorrow evening when the day cools down a bit.
fuel mods are blaqops double pumper, ams fuel rail, aeromotive FPR, fic 1250's, running e85.
car was running fine all day even in texas 107* summer. i wasnt getting on it all day just cruising.
i checked a few fuses, checked for fuel leaks, checked vac lines and all seems good.
im not sure which fuses and relays are for the fuel pump so ill have to search around a bit for that info unless someone knows it off the top of their head.
please throw some suggestions at me so i can figure this problem out. maybe someone here has gone through a similar situation. ill check for spark (which im sure i have because it actually fired up a few times for a second then shut back off) ill check plugs which are about 8 months old. and ill check all fuel lines underneath the car to make sure there are no leaks.
any other ideas please let me know! thanks a lot guys!

Is it possible that it just died? Although... if you've got a double pumper... that seems a bit ridiculous, though I wouldn't rule it out...

doubt its the wiring. car has been running fine for 6 years so for it to crap out on me like this is hard to believe.
could be the pump though...has been in there for 6 years.
ill check the pump later on tonight. whats the easiest way to do that? guess i could pull the hanger out or just add power and see what happens.

I'm sure there's a "right way" to test it though...
well i used evoscan to activate the fuel pump and it is kicking on. i feel fuel flowing into the fuel rail as well.
so now my guess is im either not getting spark or injectors are not firing.
does the cam angel sensor cut off spark when it goes out? or cut of injectors? and does it go out instantly or does it cause the car to stutter as its going out?
iv herd of heat destroying those sensors and it was 107 out here yesterday so thats what im leaning towards right now.

Do you have the stock pump? Or another pump to try? Although... its obv "not the pump"... might be a good way to eliminate the variable? But... keep it off of boost I'd imagine if you're modded...
I am not familiar with the BlackOps Double pumper. Is the second pump staged, or are both pumps on all the time, even at idle?
When you say that you've had the pump for six years, do you mean that you are running your old, original Wally as one of the two pumps in the BlackOps setup? Or that you've had the BlackOps double pumper in your car for six years? The Black Ops double pumper hasn't even been out for six years yet has it?
If both pumps in a parralel double pumper were on full time then if only one pump were to fail, the second pump would still deliver fuel wouldn't it? On the other hand, if it is a staged setup and the primary pump were to fail then there probably would be no fuel delivered to the rail, right, if the secondary pump is triggered to activate at a certain boost level via a Hobbes switch for example?
If it was me, I would first check to see that you are getting voltage to the pump(s). Then go from there.

i used the original walbro i had installed before the double pumper. i think iv had the double in for 2 years..maybe year and a half. it is staged using a progressive controller that starts sending low voltage at around 5 psi and sends full voltage at 15 psi.
im pretty sure the primary pump is getting voltage since i can kick it on through evoscan.
its been way too hot to work on it so i went ahead and ordered a crank angle sensor and a cam position sensor just in case.
i find it hard to believe im experiencing electrical failure or serious mechanical failure due to the fact i was just idling at a light when my fuel pressure started to drop. im hoping its just one of the two sensors since iv heard those can cut ignition or fuel if they go out.
ill probably order a new pump also since the original one is pretty old anyways.
