Weird buzzing/grindy sound from rear...

Hey everyone,

This is my first post. I'm hoping someone can help me here.

When braking at lower speeds, say for instance, pulling up to a red light. I get a very weird buzz / grind type noise from the rear of the car.

I have come to think that it has something to do with the AYC as it seems to only do this when switched to Snow mode.

The car seems to drive fine, but the sound is getting worse.
Yes i have checked the fluid levels and topped it up regulary but it still happens.

Can someone please help me as to what this could be and how to fix it.

Thanks in advance.

Wheel bearing? Put the car up on jack stands and check that you don't have any play in the wheels. I had a bad wheel bearing that I thought was just drivetrain noise due to hard mounts on the mustache bar.

If it's a wheel bearing, I noticed the noise changed over time. Loud whine and low growling, plus coming to a stop would sounds like metal being crushed.

Yeh it's definitely that kinda noise. Not like anything I have ever heard before tho. I don't think it's the wheel bearing tho because it only happens when the ACD is set to 'Snow' mode
