Good to hear. I'm heading up to the mountains next weekend for snowboarding and snow rally. I'll post some pictures and video when I can. Hope I do good this year. These Japanese guys are pretty good in the snow.

It definitely sounds like there is another nocking noise than just the lifter tick

it definitely doesn't sound good. was that video with the engine cold or warmed up? also can you make another video and rev it up more aggressively and hold it around higher rpm.. if the loud knock thud low tone persists you might have spun a rod bearing.. if it sounds like it has marbles in the engine that's a very bad sign.

i hate to request the above, but im just assuming its not rod knock.. but if it is, the more you rev and run the engine the more you risk destroying every component in the engine.

this video was with 5 min of warmup. so it wasnt fully warmed up. this noise was louder b4 i changed the lifters, also once the car is fullly warmed up i can barely hear it from inside the car. unlike b4 with the old lifters. the sound when warmed up has also changed since the lifter change to a lighter ticking.

i doubt its rod knock just because ive had this sound for 4k miles now and it was only loud once the cold weather came. since then ive put 1200 on the car and changed oil. the car is not down on power as far i can tell although i havent boosted since i was breaking in my new tripple disc.

my old lifters were holding pressure but i found a clogged rocker arm hole on the last one. i think i could get rid of this sound if i rechecked my rocker arm holes on the others.

Well rod nock can be very slight if it's only off a little or the wrist pin is warn. Did you replace everything in the bott end? Ie wrist pins bearings. Re-surface the crank. And so on

Actually if you hear that noise louder when cold that makes me think that it's a rod nock even more. I had a truck that had a rod nick when cold then after warm up the sound went away for the most part. I drove it like that for 2 years. But I never got on it for fear of throwing a rod. That's not a good sign for a 7000rpm engine

can you video it again after driving it around the block and hold the rpm high while videoing it.. if the knock noise goes away when you rev high its just something dumb in the head most likely. the marble noise when rev'ing is not a good sign though.

after installing the lifters i finaly got to do the rev procedure the other day with good results. before the lifter change i had the noise from 1500rpm to about 2800rpm. now the sound is quieter abd only makes it from 1500-2100. this is y i want to check my rocker arms again since theres prolly more i missed with blocked pin holes. if the pin holes r blocked then the lifters cant release pressure correct?

Could be some noisy lifters I hope and not a bad rod.

if you want 100% confirmation its not anything serious drain your oil and look at it. if you see shavings through it then that's the worst case scenario.

Not one post about spark arcing? (correct me if I'm wrong as it's late/may have skipped it.)

Check/change your plugs and coil packs (OE if you have them and check/change the boots/use silicone).

You have 3 noises: valvetrain lifter tick (sounds normal to me), high pitched irregular marble tick when revving AND decel (sounds like arcing to me), and lower end built engine noise (my built 2.3 makes noises like this/also could be piston slap which is going to happen on a larger motor, at least. I inspected all the clevite rod bearings one day last spring when I melted the piston tops and they were immaculate.)

You can have pretty good knicks on the lobes and pretty rough looking lifters and you won't get that irregular marbly tick sound on you rev up and rev-down. Get a borescope down there too.
