Clutch is letting go...How long???

Clutch is starting to slip on my MR...I have been babying it around to get to work and back for the last couple days, staying out of boost.

I have maybe an inch of of travel left on the pedal before it starts to engage. I am about to store her soon for winter, but am searching for a winter daily at the moment and need this clutch to hold out for another week maybe.

How long do you guys think I have....tick tick tick tick????

Thanks for any input!

You don't have long at all since you've already been babying it around a bit...I'd say a few days depending on the miles to and from work ..... if that...

What are you basing that on?

If you drive cautiously, I suspect you'll be fine for a week. I'd be surprised if the clutch would just altogether disappear.

Yeah, she needs to go to storage soon. I'm just trying to ease my fears of needing a tow because my clutch won't engage at a red light.

It started slipping in 2nd and 3rd gears when I got into boost pretty hard. Otherwise it just drives like a normal car out of boost...and man do normal cars suck.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Your clutch may just need to be adjusted...take a look at this thread:

Move the engagement downward if you can and hopefully thatll do the trick

You'll be fine. My original clutch started slipping and I drove it for about two months like that. Just take it easy, store it, then get it replaced before you bring it out for the spring.

Thanks for this! This should come in handy when I do actually replace the clutch.

Your replies are easing my worries quite a bit. This will buy me some time while I search for a winter car. Stay out of boost....soo difficult to stay out of boost...must resist urge....

Thanks
Yo

my clutch lastded a month or two after it started slipping. It's a slippery slope though.

stock clutch is actually pretty good for holding power, just not for launches etc
