Shearer o2 dump vs JMFab o2 dump

so i tried contacting Shearer and AWDperformance and got no response. i understand that JMFab runs 2.5 housing and 1.75 dump
but what about Shearer? i hear that they run 3 in housing??
does that make a big difference?

(im not looking for opinions on MAP Toxicfab or any recirculating o2 housings) thanks

I know a few locals who ran JMF ones with good results. Their quality is amazing and they have great customer service. I wouldn't shop anywhere else, that's not a knock at shearer at all cause i respect there parts as well.

You living in philly, i'd suggest getting the JMF as well. Maybe swing by there shop one day and check em out.

Nope Shearer's O2 dump is 2.5".

R/TErnie made a 3" O2 dump for Mikey at one point.

Correct the Shearer dump uses the factory 2.5" donut gasket to the downpipe like the JMFab piece. My experience though with the Shearer piece was the step in the donut flange was a little too tall and pressed against my downpipe (WORKS) incorrectly causing it not to seal. Gave me some bad boost creep (although did make ~560whp+ out the top). I didn't take the time to remove any material afterwards, I just sold it. The jig was prolly just a tad off or something, I'm sure the other units are fine. I went with the MAP o2 eliminator dp which is a full 3" for my ER LR2.4 build so I've yet to see how that works. From the sound of it though, for being 2.5" the JMFab piece makes good power and has good fitment so I'd go that route if I were you

Yes, I went on the search for one a few months ago and this was the only 3" solution out there. I was going to have Eric do me one offline, I didn't want to have to bother him If your reading this I should have just traded you my Ti-R

I would still talk to Jimmy at JMFab. He was talking to me about making a 3" several months ago. Killer customer service and amazing craftsmanship.

does it being 3in really make that big of a difference?
its not like JMFab comes out at 3in and tapers down to 2.5 correct?
i mean. its .5 inch ID after all. .25 in radius

I had one of these (JMF) beautiful pieces in my hand, and was forced not to install in for some other reasons. By far one of the nicest examples of welding I had seen. Jim is an amazing guy, great prices, and awesome customer service. the fact that you in PA should solidify that decision for you brother. not a knock on anyone else, theres just no other shop I would go with.

Unless you're trying to squeeze every last drop imaginable out of a setup than I wouldn't bother. I had that dump tube on my FP Black and we managed 540whp on Petey's dyno on my Fp Black. I can't say it made a difference cuz I didn't do back to back testing but Aaron at English Racing did.

I really wish MAP had an externally dumped, two piece, V-Band downpipe.

I hate taking off an O2 housing, especially if I just need to drop the downpipe for something quickly. That's why R/TErnie's O2 dump was nice. I'm sure it wasn't cheap but, I would like to have that option.

I know Binky, that would be the perfect setup. Removing/installing is going to be a PITD I know it.

Right? I'd buy that setup in a heartbeat!
