Turbo Questions
If i want to upgrade my stock Evo 8 turbo can i do it by just installing a Turbo Compressor Housing TD05HR + 20G wheel? and if so, what other upgrades would i have to make to have the car running good and strong.
Also, would getting a Turbo Compressor Housing TD05HR + 25G wheel be better? and what upgrades would i have to get.
My car has:
3' downpipe
3' turbo back
mishimoto intercooler
injen upper an lower intrcooler piping + intake
boost controller
. Everything else is pretty much stock.
Thanks!

Depends on how much power you want to make. All stock appearing turbos.

dude ive been running a stock appearing turbo on my car for like 35k+ no issues, as long as it bolts to a stock manifold, your good. an hta green red black, map turbos bbk series any of those will work depends on your budget and hp goal.

+1 to that and the best part is no matter what one you look into there all really good turbos.
im on straight 91octane making 413 hp 343 tq, on a 64 mm fp red. @curedsm yup your right it looks stock, mine doesn't even have the anti surge compressor housing, so mine looks like a legit stock evo turbo. haha
@Evo Cris, first whats your end hp goal? 300? 400? 500? +, as far as supporting mods, the bare minimum i would recommend would be first an exhaust with catback downpipe minimum, if your buying a new turbo it would be smart to buy an 02 housing, and have your stock exhaust manifold ported at the same time as it bolts right up to the turbo to complete your TBE. As far as other mods go? Whats on the car now? Youll need bigger injectors, if you ever plan on e85 go minimum of 1000-1450cc injectors a capable tuner can make the injectors run like stock. Also a minimum of an intercooler and licp, but an uicp will help. Then down the road, cams intake manifold and throttle body, unless you can swing it all in one shot, but to be honest all the mods ive listed your lookin into the 5k area with parts labor and a tune. IMO start slow, because believe me you can get in over your head real quick, then youll be like me within 4 years, have at least 15k invested in it, but most of it was having the engine built and turbo replace since #3 cylinder went bad and turbo seals blew oil into the exhaust. Good luck anymore questions shoot em in the thread.
