nice, are you on stock block/turbo? how is your evo at idle with the 400?

I ran out of fuel with the Walbro 255 on E-85 and 1450cc FIC Bluemax Injectors. 525HP/424TQ on VD (Dynojet Setting).

I installed a Walbro 400 and an adjustable FPR, probably didn't need the FPR. The tune richened up significantly, but I have not been re-tuned for the 400 yet. I'm going to have Tom tune it on the standard wiring, no rewire.

I'm guessing that an adjustable FPR isn't necessary on the stock wiring, but you will probably need one if you do a rewire.
please post your results here

i definitely plan on getting this fuel pump. im really considering doing my own install...but im kinda waiting on a side by side comparison picture of a stock/walbro 255 setup vs the walbro 400 housing...if anyone can provide the pics of the housings side by side that would be a great help to this thread!

So..., is the Walbro 400lph capable to flow enough to make +600whp on the stock pressure regulator, stock lines, and without a re-wire kit?

from what im reading, this pump should be capable of 600whp on e85. not sure about the re-wire though...i think when i am gonna install it ill just keep it on stock wiring.

but im lost as to whether we REALLY need to run an adjustable FPR with this fuel pump.

would you mind showing us a picture on what needs to be modified for the pump to fit?

You can keep the bottom bracket intact. It requires cutting quite a bit off with a dermal tool though.

I am running the Walbro 400 on stock wiring and no FPR. Car idles/runs great. My tuner adjusted my fuel maps after the 400 was installed.

Ugh, why couldn't you guys have just bumped the original thread :P

FWIW I've been running one for about a month on my X, stock wiring, stock rail, stock FPR, 1680's, and a BAP, making about 630whp dynojet with ease...

Dumb Question Coming: Can someone tell me what does BAP stand for and what is its purpose?

Boost-A-Pump

It allows you to increase voltage delivered to the pump up to 18v-22v depending on the model.

Fuel pumps flow more when they are supplied with more voltage (they also draw more amperage as voltage increases so make sure your wiring is up to snuff).

Our DW300 pump flows 320LPH @ 40psi and 13.5v vs. 385LPH @ 40psi and 16v

Ya, I have the 40-amp model (BAP) and it runs at 17.5V, probably pushing your DW300 pump to right around 400LPH. It definitely works, made a solid 550whp dynojet with it like that for almost a year!
