Petrol on Pistons Head?
Petrol on Pistons Head?
Hi,
today ive check my pistons surface with a scope and noticed that the pistons head surface is wet and it is petrol.
Is that a bad sign? No serious knocking sign on the pistons head but just wet with petrol...

All 4 pistons? Are you sure it's gas?? It's probably oil getting in there from the pcv system, mine did that very bad and I think is also what caused my misfiring since it made my plugs black. Once I installed a catch can the next day I checked the pistons and they were bone Dry.
So I'm assuming you still have the pcv still hooked up right? I don't see how it would be fuel unless it running crazy rich or if it's not starting for some reason and you've been cranking it for a while.
BTW I found out mine is doing that because all 4 of my top piston rings came out in pieces....and compression test showed 160ish psi on all cylinders right before I tore it apart.
