question on wiring zeitronix ethanol content analyzer

so, i have the sensor and analyzer, and i'm a little confused on the wiring. i've read the online instructions and it seems simple enough, but zeitronix sells the harness that plugs into the sensor that matches the analyzer's wires. but what's the point of that since directly matching/wiring the wires between the sensor and the analyzer won't do anything since you have to supply power to both the sensor and the analyzer?

it sounds like the only wire that goes from the sensor to the analyzer is the green signal wire, and you have to wire the ground and 12v source to both the sensor and the analyzer separately. i know you can probably share 12v sources and the ground, but i don't know why zeitronix emphasized that the harness they sell has matching wires as the eca unit.

also, i've noticed that some people have plumbed the fuel lines to the sensor differently - ie, inlet and outlet lines are interchangeable - meaning some people have used the large line as the inlet and the smaller line as the outlet and vice versa. i'm pretty sure it doesn't matter since it's not a check valve or anything, although on the zeitronix website it shows the smaller line as the inlet and the larger as the outlet.

The sensor and the display share the power and ground. All you need to do is provide power and ground to the harness.

Fuel can flow thru the sensor either way.

And the advantage of having the harness is so you have the proper connector to the sensor. Plus the wires are long, loomed, etc.

ok, so the harness plugs into the sensor...harness has three wires...do the power and ground connect to the gauges power and ground?

Yes. You're doing a very good job of overthinking this

Holy crap, I described it once...

The gauge connects directly to the sensor and ALL you do is supply power and ground to the appropriate wires (and run fuel thru the sensor of course).
