yes you would still get the good high RPM shift because the input shaft only spins the 7.25" diameter discs and drive hub when you're shifting... less inertia for the synchronizers to clutch.

So far I've shifted at about 8200 and the shifts are extremely smooth. I still have to be careful not to engage the clutch too quickly as it grabs so hard I am afraid it could eventualy cause druveline damage. If I had to do it all over again I would of probably gone with the street disk but since I have not driven a street disk it is just a guess.

The one thing I'm starting to notice is that after driving in traffic for a while it seems to be more difficult to take off from a light. The clutch is easier to slip while cold but once warm it can be a challenge to slip it and pull away from a light smoothly.

That makes sense as the disc material heats up so does the friction causing it to grab quicker, harder, faster..........until you put too much heat to it

I'm in the same boat if the auto stuff isn't ready soone than later as i have the original QM and have contemplated going to the V2 if the Evo remains a 5 spd.

This heavier FW looks like a nice option for some but still never going to be that "magic" clutch that can do it all

a 7.25" clutch is quite common and a lot of the parts are interchangeable due to their use in racing.

A LOT of people make a 7.25" clutch, but I wouldn't confuse QM with SPEC.
I respecfully disagree I have both and interchaged the parts with out any issue 100% bolt on like I said the only diference is the cover and the flywheel design
