FMIC comparison...
Not installed yet, but I couldn't wait any more to take the pictures and give my impressions.
Here they are with the left side weld lined up...

The Buschur core as you can see from the pics is a little bit shorter vertically, a little bit thicker, and significantly longer.
The most surprising thing to me was the weight difference. The Buschur Racing FMIC was substantially heavier than the stock unit. This should make it a much better heat sink for those first 30 feet or so of a drag run before you get significant air flow through the unit from your forward motion.... just one more reason to like this FMIC!

Lag?
Do they make any claims about pressure drop induced lag versus the stock unit?
How many pounds heavier? The intercooler is about as far forward as anything on the evo and I wonder how much it will change the weight distribution forward.
How did you get it free and how did you trash your stock unit?
Bird? Rock? Snow?
Good Luck

I'd ask david before putting those pics up. He's very serious about the design of his products and I bet he doesn't wanna get ripped off. I'm just tying to help a great tuner.
Anyway, thats the I/C I'm getting when spring rolls around and I can't wait

Of course I respect David, but any compeditor could buy the product and post it up.Even from the pic on David's site, it looks like I could shave a little off the bottom to keep from cutting the splash shield... Hopefully by late summer I'll be able to get my hands on a stage 3 or 4...
That's the FMIC i have and I love it. Minor trimming of undertray, that's it. Bumper brace fits, bumper fits. The hangers on mine weren't lined up perfect making fitment a little tight and I can tell that it's slightly crooked. Hardly noticeable unless you're as nitpicky as me. Anyway, it's a great core, congratulations.

I got it for free from the other guys insurance company since he slammed into me from behind at about 50 mph shoving me forward into the car ahead of me and thus destroying the stock FMIC. The stocker is almost the same price as the BR unit so the body shop considers it a wash cost wise.
