dropped some rag into coolant gallery
dropped some rag into coolant gallery
Help!
Before cleaning the gasket surface of the block I thought I would plug the galleries with rag to prevent any crap getting in there.
Now have a big problem as a small piece of rag has dropped down a coolant gallery and it is nowhere to be seen.
Used a straw connected to a vac and sucked up a whole lot of coolant but no rag.
Is there a way I can flush this out or am I screwed?
It is the coolant gallery between cylinder 2 and 3 towards the front of the block just to the drivers side of the oil squirter.
Thanks in advance.

I've had to pull small pieces of blue shop rags out of the combustion chamber after using them to dry up fuel on the piston. I used a pick up tool like this to get them out.
I then started using that tool to hold on to the towel pieces to put in the spark plug hole to do the same job. May work for what you're needing to do.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately I can't see the rag to use one of those tools.
Could removing the coolant bung on the block and flushing towards that with distilled water possible flush it out?
Problem is I don't know the exact path these galleries take.
Any suggestions??
