2006 GSR IX timing chain?

i just called the dealership and they told me that the 2006 IX GSR is a car with a timing chain not belt? he said that it wouldnt need to be replaced until high mileage the car has 48000? what do you guys recommend because i know how dealers like to get over on people and tell them the wrog information so they ensure that you will be back. Im going to give the car the 30k service after i buy it which at the dealer runs right under $1000. but what would you guys recommend as far as maintenance on a used 06 with 48000 miles so i can have a piece of mind...the car is stock

I would start by not dealing with that dealership.

The X has a chain. The IX and older have belts.

Could have been a simple confusion, but as stated on the chance that it wasn't, I'd steer clear of that dealer from now on.

Any place that is experienced with the IX (good dealer, reputable performance shop, etc.).

How about you buy an Evo IX first before wasting everyone's time... Oh, and then SEARCH!
