About 3 years ago I had my engine built and the balance shafts removed. Never had a problem with oil pressure since the balance shaft bearings were turned slightly to block the flow.

Fast forward a bit and now Im only getting about 10psi at idle but in the 50-60psi range if I bump the throttle under no load.

The way Im reading this is a SPA gauge with the sensor off the oil filter housing block. Since I just got the car back on the road a few days ago Im wondering if the oil didn't settle in the sensor port and block it. It also needs an oil change IMO, but it hasnt leaked a drop and still full on the stick.

Also my regular dash oil light has never come on

Any ideas?

 

It is a bit low, do an oil change and report back. I'm seeing 18-15psi on my rebuild.

 

not to scare you,but before i started having engine problems,mines started doing this also.my pressure was 10psi at idle,but went up perfectly with throttle.i never worried about b/c it went up the way it should and i saw several threads here with guys saying they had the same thing going on and they just drove it like that.

turns out something got under my cams and galled the journals pretty bad.

hopefully an oil change will fix yours.

 

If it were me I would check the oil pump they tend Togo up what is it full throttle I had a similar problem what about when you start it up what is oil pressure it should be around 100-120 report back

 

FWIW my oil pressure is 40-45 at idle when hot..

i have no idea, i cant pay attention to the gauge when im at WOT. but its over 100

 

30-40 warm idle -- 80-100 from 3500 up

25-30 psi when hot at idle

Well before oil change on a cold start Im getting 64.8psi and mid 20s now after a small beat run around the block.

Oil is draining now....

 

I'd cut your oil filter open and check for metal. Low oil pressure could be an indication of crank issues.
