AEM Intake and Buschur FMIC

I am definately buying a Buschur FMIC kit, and I wanted to know if the AEM intake would work with it. Anyone have this combo?

The AEM intake will have no effect on the fitment of the front mount intercooler.

Give us a call.

Thanks,

Sorry, what I meant was will the upper i/c piping of the FMIC kit interfere with the AEM intake, or vice versa. I know the intercooler itself doesn't make a difference

And if I buy your upper i/c pipe and mini battery kit now, will I be able to get the FMIC kit laterwithout the upper i/c pipe for a discounted price? If so, how much?

Thanks David!

The FMIC doesn't come with the upper IC pipe, so there would be no discount on it later on. It DOES come with a replacement lower IC pipe that is much shorter and more direct than the stock pipe. People wonder if this FMIC will give you more lag.... I now have full spool (20 psi) by 2,500 RPM from a 5th gear roll starting at 2000 RPM.

I guess I misunderstood. I thought the FMIC kit comes complete with all the piping.

So if I order the upper i/c pipe for my stock fmic, will the pipe still work with the buschur fmic?

Yup. The outlet side of the BR FMIC is in the same place as stock so the upper IC pipe works with either the stock FMIC or his upgrade

Please dont flame me about the "ghetto" accuasations ... b/c its true how they look, but i dont doubt the performance and design, which is y i bought it, i just did not know that the unit was going to be this "unfinished"

Now, if i have a br fmic on a stock evo ... what do i need? I heard that the boost increases roughly 2 psi over stock ... can someone help me on what supporting mods i absolutely need, and which i should have?

Here are the pics of my FMIC....I wouldn't call it "ghetto" by any stretch of the imagination! Very clean welds. If you want something done by a machine with no visible welds go with the factory unit and sell the Buschur FMIC to someone else.

What mods if any do you have? Hard to advise you when going by your (useless) "disclaimer" signature.

haha, been too lazy to take off that disclaimer ... put it on long time ago.

on previous post i said "Now, if i have a br fmic on a stock evo" ... meaning i got's nottin but ground cable's.

i guess "ghetto" is a bad word to describe. i am just used to seeing prototypes comming in and out with the handmade look, opposed to finished goods w/ a more machined look. Like i said previous, i didnt know it would come like this, just curious wat others thought, and whether all the aftermarket fmic's are handmade welds, cause i've seen some (more $$ obviously) that look machined like the factory unit. Hopefully the sell the br fmic comment wasnt u being defensive ... b/c its the truth that it doesnt look like most finished metal products ... and i DID SAY THAT "i dont doubt the performance and design, which is y i bought it" and that is more imp to me than the look neways. just wasnt sure if this was normal.

Damn, ghetto welds.

The factory intercooler is a stamping and then is epoxied together.

Our intercoolers along with every other aftermarket intercooler out there is welded together.

FMIC welds

Here is how welds should look.
They were done here at our shop.

Dave, The Evo FMIC fits perfect. We leak tested it before the install... Not a single leak! Worth every penny! Best $750 I've spent. The gusset on the inlet pipe and the heat shield are nice touches. It’s all about the details!

The welds are fine. Someone is just being a little too picky.

Would you be interested in (4) GVR4 FMICs that we have on the shelf?

If so, PM me.
