Well the idea was to do the triple plate conversion as long as i do have the twin i was told. $1095 for the conversion with a new pressure plate and then i'll also purchase a new flywheel seperately. I was curious if that is the best route to go considering if i have a twin the cost would be dramatically cheaper than purchasing a triple plate outright or a beastly clutch that is comparable. I put over $4k into the car this year, sucks! Adds up quick. I would like to have the car completed before the end of the summer but probably not going to happen if i cant get it all figured out. Thanks for the insight guys.

4k isnt bad at all, and to me the clutch you have is a knock off of a real twin, the idea is there but they just dont do it. All twins are loud, if you want it quieter and cheaper try a single. But you will be right on the edge of failure all the time at your power levels. Don't waste another 1k on that clutch. Get something else.

Good choice. I did the conversion and haven't had any issues in the last 2 years. They are noisy yes but I don't believe there to be a better clutch for the power level. And yes everyone has their preference on clutches but I think you've made the right choice! Good luck

I have had two exedy twins and they both cost me a trans so good luck. Not sure what you should get but I would get something else.

Im buying an Exedy Triple Conversion, New Pressure Plate and New Flywheel. Just going to replace everything to be on the safe side. I already have a built trans. I'll let you know the outcome soon enough and my personal opinion on it.

Alright, So i purchased the Exedy Triple Conversion. It was indeed a Exedy Twin SD not an HD so i just went with the conversion as it should hold the Tq i'm making.

My question is when assembling the Triple are we able to stagger the clutch discs or do we have to line them up parallel?

Per Exedy:

Adam, Thank you for using Exedy products. The disc orientation does not matter on the triple. The intermediate plates come with a zero balance so they essentially can go in any orientation without issue. If the motor is being rebuilt it is good to balance the clutch and flywheel with the crank. If you have any other questions regarding please feel free to contact me.

From Me:
Would it make more sense to stagger the discs?

Exedy:
At several thousand RPM it will not matter. In most cases discs are staggered for clearance reasons between rivets. Either way the Exedy triple plate will function the same.

Sincerely, Evan Cline

What about spec? Seems like exedy is on top of it.
