Nice write up^ but I guess no one paid attention to the fact I stated how to intall it a few post up without having to use hose clamps or teflon tape...

mrfred, did you need to drill out your siphon orfice to get the base pressure regulated? On my set up, rewire(14v) -8an feed, stk feed as return and Aeromotive FPR, I could not get below 62base until I drilled the siphon out with a 9/64" bit. Pressure came down to 42 after that.

Yeah, I would have secured it the same way you did using the factory clasp at the bottom of the pump, but the pump carrier had already be cut for the hose clamp approach. The only thing that worries me about using the factory clasp is choosing a sock that provides enough flow. Which sock did you use?

I'm using a custom wiring job that retains the factory low voltage circuit, and base pressure was sitting right at 45 psi (with fpr vacuum line disconnected) at idle with the stock siphon size. I did drill out the siphon slightly to 7/64" to see if it would lower base pressure down to 43.5 psi, but it didn't make an appreciable difference.

I'm using a large Walbro sock, but I don't think it's as big as the one you show in your post.

Did you get a chance to test any flow ratings on this guy?

No easy way to do a flow rate test with it installed in the car, but:

I do not, but I'll see if I can figure it out for you. It looks the same as the one you posted except not quite as long. I didn't special order it. It came with the 255hp I had in the tank. I just swapped it over.

Ah, that should be the 125-147. Its the short version of the 125-142. Both have a bigger opening that extends down more than the factory sock. I was eyeballing the 125-142 yesterday, and now I think its as tight a fit as the sock that Walbro recommends for the 400/416, so I'm a bit surprised you got the 125-147 to fit. Was the clasp bulging from contacting the nozzle on the sock?

Clasp? Bulging? Nozzle? Sorry but I don't know to what you're referring to. Help me out None of it looked deformed. What part surprises you about the fit?

What is the result running one of these with factory wiring? Will it outflow a 255 or DW301 when run on factory wiring? With specs of ~298 LPH @ 12v & 70psi seems to me like it would.

It does address the issue, but its $100. Why not do it yourself with a $2 drill bit?
