What ACT Clutch to purchase?

My current ACT Clutch and Pressure plate is toast. I dont know what kind of clutch it is as it has no markings besides ACT. It has no pucks and it seems to have Copper strands or fibers on the disk. My current setup now nets be about 420WHP. I daily drive my Evo 8 and go to the track about once a month. What act clutch do you guys recommend?

You had the act hdss more than likely. That's a good clutch. You could also go with the hdg6 which is a 6 puck

I run the high pressure plate and 6-puck sprung with no issues. High rpm shifting is not a problem if installed/prepped correctly. If you live in an area with hills I would not recommend because the clutch doesn't like to be lightly slipped and will chatter.

Get the clutch that is rated just above your current TORQUE output. WHP is not relevant in this case.

I rocked the HDSS on the oem flywheel.
The reality is that the only clutch that will give you 100% reliable shifting is the tilton clutch all others have their own issues.

I put in a competition clutch stage one with flywheel a couple weeks ago. 2200 miles and two trips later Im happy with it. Im lower tq than you but im happy with the feel of this one. Ran several 1.8 and a 1.79 60 ft times full wieght with all seasons.

At 420 WHP you are going to be close to the torque limits of the HDSS but probably still ok for street and pushing it for race use. Beyond that point you either have to give up a little bit in terms of a stiffer pedal (XT pressure plate) or a harsher engagement (puck disc).
