Shifter Lever pin cut in half?
Hello all,
Since I purchased the car back in 08, I have noticed really notchy shifting and sometimes not being able to go into 1st from neutral. ( I would have to go to 2nd first). I figured it was normal evo tranny notchiness.
So recently I have had issues where going into 5th gear would be 3rd and reverse would be 4th. With the help of Trevor from Sheptrans

and Greg from USC Performance
, I was able to find out the pin which holds the white half moon piece that allows the tranny to move to the right shift gates (5th-reverse) was cut in half. This didn't allow the white plastic piece to sit securely on there.
After replacing that lever and a new white plastic piece, it feels like a totally different transmission. More of like my friends RSX-S trans. I have to re-learn how to shift again because it's so precise. I also have underhood shifter bushings which probably help a lot.
Has anyone ever seen this before??
