Im a strong beleiver on if you know how to drive the car right the clutch will last alot longer then you or anyone expects. My stock clutch was still good when i took it out of the car at 75k miles and has was launched several times. i had people telling me that stock clutches dont last near that many miles. as for the triple ive seen people on this forum having them last from under 10k miles to over 60k. im at 40k on my triple and theres nothing wrong with it

I definitely see mixed reviews on the exedy clutches I just don't like the way they drive for a street car. I found mine to be extremely noisy and pretty unpredictable. It honestly kills the enjoyment of driving my car sometimes. Not only that but I'm not a drag racer and may go to the track once a year and feel that the triple is overkill. I think maybe yours has lasted this long because you're not making crazy Power?

If only 500hp, Exedy twin hands down. Triple is overkill for 500hp.

Had a twin in my last car. Still felt that the driveability was poor. The price of this clutch is also something im not a big fan of!

one does not simply buy an evo and expect it to be quiet. lol if its not the clutch making noise, its gonna be the loud thuds from every tiny pot hole in the road. lol on a more serious note, i use an exedy twin hd, and it reaallllyyy takes some abuse. back to back launches and not even a little slip.

Never did I expect it to be quiet trust me... Ive already got motor mounts that vibrate my dash apart. Drivability on the exedy clutches just adds to my frustration! I guess it doesnt help that I went from an Evo to a BMW and back into an evo...

Love the twins, but depending on the budget. Comp Stage 2 is great as well.

If you arent living at the drag strip the comp stage 2 street disc is a good daily driver clutch and can hold up to launches and 8000rpm shifts-

Have two comp stg2 in friends cars at 480 and 490whp. Holds and does well, pretty stinky though lol.

I prefer the twins, but they are pricy!

Are you NUTS!!! you're literally the ONLY person I've EVER heard say that... hahaha he said the twin and triple are HARSH!!! hahaha. have you ever driven a car with one of these in it? or did you get lied to about what was in there. Single plate clutches are a PAIN in the A$$! the beauty of having the cars we have is because there's enough room in the bell housing that they can have a sprung multi-disc clutch and the drive ability is basically unchanged from stock. until you get into the crazier drag application clutches. i'd rather pull my teeth out with a pair of pliers than put a single disc clutch in my Evo. THOSE are harsh. it's like a damn ON/OFF switch.

good luck with that crap. I wouldn't waste my money. In fact i won an exedy stage 2 single disc for the evo vs sti shootout and i sold it. so even if i had one given to me... still worthless.

hey, heres my opinion on comp stage 2....

I shredded my ACT clutch in april, I ordered the comp stage 2 from lancershop and installed it in early May. During the time from may until june 30 I drove the hell out of it and launched it etc. It held fine. basic bolt ons with definitely less that 400 hp. During that time my transfer case started whining(due to mitsu giving me the wrong weight tcase fluid), I took the car to Shep to have the tcase and tranny done. they called me and said that the pressure plate that I had (comp stage 2) had warped significantly. Not noticable during driving or at all for that matter, but, would without a doubt cause damage in the near future. So, with all that said and a clutch i had installed only 2-3 months prior, do I think you should get Comp stage 2? ABSOLUTELY NOT. What do i sugguest then? Well, i only drove my evo with ACT, comp stage 2 and exedy stage 1. All of which I am turning my back on. The Exedy and CC stage 2 I had were smooth and held very well once broken in. Exedy, some say its less effective then the stocker.. I am getting QuarterMaster 8 leg installed currently. I'll let you know how it goes. Good Luck

Stinky means you are burning the clutch, probably slipping at higher RPM in the powerband.
