Really need to retune after Megan Manifold install?

Hi all, I have a. Evo 8 with about 420whp. I have the stock manifold and I am planning to buy the Megan racing manifold, I want it mainly for looks then performance. When I do get It do I really need to retune it? Will it hurt my motor or turbo if I don't tune it? Thanks guys.

Yes you are gonna need a retune. The manifold will affect your afr. You could get by without a tune if your not boosting crazy.

So you want to put on a crappy manifold that is proned to cracking; which will more than likely affect your horsepower in the wrong direction because of looks? That manifold looks like crap anyways. If you are so into looks, buy a polished heatshield for it.

map or buschur manifold? I have the buschur ported/coated manifold and it is by far the biggest attention getter on my car when I pop the hood. My friends drool over how awesome it looks. It performs well too all for 200.00

A few years back, a friend purchased a Megan e-mainfold, & we didn't notice any size advantage over the stock mani! So we through it away & purchased a different brand (Tomei expreme). Again, that was a few years back, is the Megan mani still crappy or have they made it any better?
Do yourself a favor & get the stock mani ported, it's likely the most durable manifold.

I agree but I was thinking of maybe spraying a high temperature paint over it.

Still won't make it any less prone to cracking.

Port your stock manifold and get a nice cover or send it to buschur and they'll grind off the posts and ceramic coat it as well

Awesome will do, but do I still have to retune after porting the stock one?

I think I will just stick to the oem one I have and maybe pull it out and spray it with a black high temperature coating.

Does Buschur offer thermal ceramic coating? I did some search about it & found only 1 company that performs such coating, called 'Zircotec' in the UK.

Why would you avoid tuning. Don't do anything to your car if you don't plan on retuning. These cars you can't just bolt on power mods and expect them to run right. About the only thing you can change on that motor without a retune is the spark plugs.
