Inherent Evo noise or what do you think?

Bought an Evo 8 in November, drives great, pulls strong, no issues with the car but, noticed it has an odd noise. Not sure if it is a normal Evo noise or not...

When I have the car in 4th or 5th gear & I let off the throttle between 55 & 45mph it makes a noise which I assume is coming from flywheel or something transmission related. Only does it if completely off throttle, if partial throttle the noise goes away and if above 55 or under 45 the noise goes away. Haven't tried it in 3rd but engine noise would probably drone everything out at that RPM. Definitely does NOT sound like the TC whine which I see and have listened to all over the forums and youtube. Especially since it is ONLY with no throttle and isn't audible upon accelerating or even partial throttle deceleration.

Noise is similar to a light flywheel with a low pitch pinging noise or bolts sliding around in a pan. I think it is the lightweight flywheel the car has but seeing what you guys think. I also changed all the gear fluids recently and no metal shavings were evident, only noticeable metal was that the rag I wiped the magnetic drain plugs with got a smear of gray on it. Fluid change didn't effect anything otherwise.

Mods are:
Sheppard rebuilt trans and TC (prior to me buying approx 6k miles ago now)
RS helical limited slip front
Exedy organic clutch
RRE Lightweight flywheel
Rear diff supposedly replaced approx 10k miles ago
Total miles on car 138,000

Either way I'm driving it ti'll the wheels fall off & loving it but good to know if something is up.

Have you checked your flywheel bolts? It is possible for them to start backing themselves out. Its a PITA to drop the transmission, but if you haven't checked them before it may be worth a look.

Listened to a few of those on youtube, similar sound but less pinging and less rhythmic right now, timing belt is gonna be close to due this summer, probably try to go through everything then or wait until it's worse. It is also only under no throttle and between 45 and 55 which the loose flywheel should be most of the time like this...
