Stock springs and retainers

How much power can be made while still using stock springs and retainers? I know you would not want to shift so late with the stock but I'm curious what some people are making.

Not sure on the answer to your question but you can just upgrade for about $400 or less depending on your brand preference. Better safe than sorry imo, might as well do cams & headstuds too while the head is apart if you don't already have those just my 2c.

Yea I know. My car came with cams when I bought it and I'm sure it's still stock springs and such which is why I was asking. I never redline it or anything so I was just curious to see what ppl were making on stock.

I'm still running stock valve springs /retainers, you can see my sig for power . Keep in mind thats with HKS 272's, which work fine with stock springs. I'm going to have gsc s3 installed with super techs soon. But like previously mentioned if your going to install cams you should just put in new springs/retainers.

the stock valvesprings are not limited by engine power, high rpm and aggressive cam ramp lead to valve float when the spring rate is not high enough to compensate.

What cam are you running and how high is your rev limit?
