WAS just about done with my installs....

Just got done putting in cams, springs, and retainers. Everything lined up and looks good. Only thing i had to do left is release the tension on the timing belt.

Everything was done properly, the tool had anti seize treatment before using. Inserted and turned 30 degrees and allowed the tension to set before turning again. Backed it out slowly and surely, then it snapped. ****!

So now i have the TIP of the tool stuck in there..

Whats my best solution for this?

I had the same thing happen and had to pull the front timing cover to remove. It likely got bent from being tightened too much and became warped. When I got to mine it unscrewed by hand and did not cause any damage.

Yeah i am going to pull the timing cover off tmrw morning. Hopefully i can remove it with ease.

I didnt tighten too much, not more then 20ft-lbs. only enough to give me a tiny slack to remove the cam gears off the shaft itself.

How hard did you tighten it down in there? It needs to be threaded about a half turn every 10 seconds or so to slowly compress the tensioner or it can cause damage to the threads.

I would drill all the way though it to make sure the EZ Out grabs really good and a small torch to heat up the surrounding metal should help as well.

This is a bad idea when you are trying to easy out something.
Heat expands, when you heat up the metal it puts more pressure on the threads...
Its different if you have a head to turn and are trying to break loose a rusted bolt, but this is a clean bolt, heat will only make this harder.
