Evo8 timing belt changes

Hi guys,

I am new here, owning an evo8 FQ300, i am about the time to change the timing belt here, cos there are some cracks on the belt, just a quick question here, do i have to change the pulleys and tensioners at the same time please?

Many thanks for your help.

Samo

Do you have too? No, not unless the part is obviously failing. On the other hand, you will find this job is a lot of work if you do it yourself and expensive if you pay to have it done. If something fails before the next service interval it all has to come apart again. That, or the valves and pistons have a block party. Many people also replace the water pump at belt time since a water pump job is pretty much the same as a timing belt job.

So, there is no hard and fast answer.
