if its just a rod bearing and not a main bearing it can easily be saved... to bad you don't live closer... i would be more then happy to take care of it for you...

motor had oil in it. It only had 2k miles. I have a feeling there was a lot of knock at one time.

If you run e85... Its really easy to over do it on timing and jar the rods destroying rod bearings

Well, that's certainly an upgrade.

I went with a 2.3L build and haven't looked back. The torque and spool is amazing with the a stroker. I homebuilt mine, so it was a bit cheaper than sending out to a shop to get done. Regardless, it's something to think hard over.

Lol... I assumed when i saw the pump and injectors in your signature... Thats why they say ltbt... Or mtbt depends on who is saying it... When your playing with timing you stop once the car stops making torque. E85 wont knock if you overdue it and catastophic failure is your only clue that ya ****ed up... Thats where tuning experience helps if youre not on a dyno. Using vitual dyno to graph power for reference can show improvement even if there wasnt any... A good tuner will know most evo's cant take that much timing and take it down a notch. A bad tuner will think he is awesome and blow your motor...

Bot saying its the case in your situation but it does happen.

If you have metal in the oil system, you'll have to completely disassemble the block and replace crank, oil cooler and probably turbo unless you figure out a way to flush it enough to be certain that it is not retaining metal shavings in the CHRA. You will have to force flush every oil passage and line (or replace them) until you are certain they are clean. Otherwise, the shavings will just circulate on startup of your new motor and trash it too...

I have my motor at the machine shop now. He said that my block is good. Just the rod bearing got chewed up. I got a 100mm crank going in. I'm getting new oil cooler/lines.

BTW, my turbo is at FP and I decided to have them upgrade it to a DBB black for my 2.3L build !!
Soon to be tuned by TSCOMPTUNED
