Boost controller

Hey all!

Im recently new to the evo forums, as well as an evo car. Its been my dream car since I was a little kid, and was finally able to buy one. Got myself a 06 evo mr.

I was wondering, thinking of ways to tweek it already, is adding a boost controller worth it, and also does it horrible affect gas consumption like I've heard? I've heard it can add 40-100 extra HP. Is it worth doing and if so what brand should I get?

Thanks for all the answers!

Adding a boost controller will help.....with tuning. If you aren't familiar with it (and it sounds like you're not) then you will need to consult with someone who knows what they are doing.

Turning up the boost means your timing maps and fuel delivery need to be upped as well. Stock ECU can handle that. You need at least an upgraded fuel pump. There is a wealth of knowledge here and you can easily get carried away. Just look around this site. Most questions have been answered.

I'd say boost controller, metal dv and Pump is a must before start tuning and no,consumption is going to be the same.

SmurfZilla is right. This site has almost every question answered for you already. Staged upgrades might be what you are looking for though. Check out Buschurs site and this may have the bolt on parts you need to achieve your goal
