Torque Solution motor mount discoloration =(

Just wanted to share some feedback along with some information about the issue I have had with the passenger side TS engine mount.

First off, these mounts are awesome! I completely love them and have a full set on my car.

When I first received these mounts they were anodized black as they all are. However the passenger side mount has heavily discolored and has gone brown. It is a major eyesore

Pictures have been attached.

I emailed Mike at TS and his response summed up that it is due to sunlight exposure He was kind enough to offer to re-anodize it, (noted that logo would be forever gone) however shipment costs from Canada to them and downtime is simply not worth it. It must be a poor anodized piece as all the other anodized parts in my engine bay have not been effected by this. It is simply sad there is nothing better that can be done

In all honesty, I personally cant see this as a byproduct of only sunlight I presume that engine bay heat must have also contributed to this.
Moral of this story- Don't let sunlight hit your mounts as per TS!

I think they look better like that personally

Or you can simply paint them high temp black no??

I guess unless you feel the need to have to show off the fact that you have TS motor mounts

Seems to be the way anymore, mod a car to show everyone in some random parking lot ohhhh look what I got

Go to your local auto parts store... Buy 400grit sand paper and your favorite color of engine paint... 12-13bucks... Sand,clean,spray... Enjoy... Most of all my anodized parts faded in a few months in the god aweful sun in el paso aka the sun city... Paint doesnt fade as easily

Weird, I hope mine don't do that when I install them. I would probably have them re-anodized. I had my BR FMIC anodized black 4 yrs ago and it's holding up pretty damn well, slightly faded, not bad though.

I just got a set maybe I'll stick them in the oven before I install them. Too bad they didn't come with cooking instructions! Not poking fun at you I understand that you wanted the black ones and wanted them to stay black but I think they look pretty good that way.

Most likely they will offer to re-anodize.

Lol seems like most people in the thread have liked the faded color best

I could paint them, but I just found it annoying that I have to paint, re-anodize etc
I will most likely end up powder coating them over the winter.

I am hesitant about re-anodizing them and am leaning against it because I don't want to have the same issue in the future. This happened in less than 8 months

LMFAO
The color is neat but its not for me. Black looked much cleaner and was less of an eyesore

Seems that TS should offer there mounts pre-faded
Looks like it would be a hot seller

I find it funny that something in your engine bay is discolored due to sunlight exposure. Close your hood and drive the car.

FYI- the reason it has seen any sun was because over the past year the car has been off the road. I had the hood off the car with the garage open during my build. Also note that I only noticed the color change after I started driving it after the build, hence why I feel heat has played a role as well.
But sorry I forgot to mention that I don't drive my car and its for show only .... some comments on here are so pointless and full of fail... Congratulations for joining that club
