Spun rod bearing? Balance shaft bearing?

I have pistons out pan dropped obviously. I have alot of brass looking chunks in the bottom of my oil pan. The 1 2 and 3 rod bearings looked real good. Number 4 looks alittle bronze but not near enough with all the brass in my oil pan. So I'm wondering if anyone ever spun a balance shaft bearing and what exactly did it look like and can I tell with the block in the car yet

Push on the balance shaft if it moves around the bearings are toast. This is a common failure. This is why I eliminated mine.

Sucka but at least it didn't take out the whole Motor. Just disassemble everything oil related and replace the oil cooler and pump and such. I had several seize and destroy everything that needs oil.

and then both ended up in 2.4's.

did yours sieze up and kill the motor? Mine caused an immediate drop in oil pressure, which the dummy light brought to my attention, and i shut it off and waited 4 hours for a tow in the backwoods of PA... Shipping a "non-running" car from PA-NC was not cheap.

No my idiot light did not come on... to my knowledge... it actually seized on the lift while it was idling as the clutch was being adjusted...
