ACD Won't Bleed

I've been trying to bleed my newly rebuilt pump and I'm not getting any ATF out. It smells and looks like diff fluid. I tried turning the wheel and I hear the pump running. There is no leak or loss of fluid from the reservoir. What's the deal?

This is an Evo IX

Yes. I assume it is working because the pump comes on.

also, try taking off the reservoar and squirting some ATF directly into the thick hose... those pumps are sometimes hard to prime...

Bleeder screw is open. I got a small quantity of fluid out, but it was diff/gear oil. I tried closing it while the pump was running to build pressure as well as open the whole time.

ACDTuning.com did the rebuild.

Is the large nipple the inlet or the small

All connectors were hooked. I'm wondering if my solenoid failed. I'll try manually priming the inlet. Worth trying for sure. Seems weird that diff fluid came out. And yes it's not the drain plug.

for sure, try putting the ATF direct into the inlet hose, because sometimes the filter in the reservoir is too restrictive..

You can also manually hook up the pump to 12Vsource and prime it like that. But you can not bleed the system without running the pump and opening the solenoid. Sometimes the solenoids get stuck too..

Do what I do make sure you bleed it with as brake bleeder kit. It allows the pump to push fluid out without the air going back through the bleeder without defeating the purpose of bleeding the system.

I bled the system on my YouTube videos its there I used clear see-through line from the kit . you can also use the fishtank line that puts their air through the pump.

air will never go back in, unless you forget to top up the ACD fluid reservoir.. I usually put a piece of clear hose on the bleed nipple to see when the air stops coming out...

actually, the purpose of bleeding the system after the rebuild is not so much to bleed air from the lines, but to bleed all the air from the pump..
