Bell housing broke from clutch fork

I have seen this post on here and noticed a lot of people suggested welding it back together. I was wondering if this actually works and how long it would last, or any other suggestions on what to do to fix this problem.

Push style clutch!!! No need for a cluch fork after that... Also that pin is a pretty snug fit so i would think the welder would have to have ungodly talent to make it fit again...

I'd vote for welding it. Unless you go with a quarter master htb I would stay push.

It would take more that welding. This is a precision bored hole. Welding would distort the broken parts and the shaft won't fit. Could it be made to fit - I imagine so but with a bunch more work. I would replace the bell housing. I think I remember seeing this part for sale new for around $250 on one of the vender sites.

I broke the aluminum tub on my walk behind lawn mower and had it welded. It still mows but park it on a flat surface and only three wheels touch the ground.

Well the problem with this is that it's a 6-speed. I got the new Bell housing today but it was for the 5-speed (completely different). The problem is, the 6-speed bell housing is $900 and there is only one and it's in Japan and it will take 2 months to come here.

Well, like the guy said, "You never explained it that way before." Maybe one of the repair shops has a bell housing from a junk 6-speed. Otherwise.......welding.
