Valve cover gasket

Hi all,

Does anyone know (for sure) if the following kit will fit the Evo 9 MIVEC engine?

Felpro VS50721R (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-vs50721r)

I'll check the ETA with the dealer for an OEM one, but I want to have an option if it's going to take too long! I don't trust "parts" websites finding the right part through their search engines when it comes to the Evo so I thought I'd check here just in case.

Thanks!

S.

The picture certainly looks like its the right part however aside from that I have no idea if it actually is. Typically when I need a part from the dealership if they dont stock it, they can have it for me the following day. Give them a call and see what's what first.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies! I spoke with Mitsubishi and they want about $110 for the gasket set, and they can't get it until at least Monday.

I might give STM a try!

Thanks!

STM's will guaranteed fit.

The one from Summit looks like it will fit fine. The people at Summit are great, I'm sure if you needed to return it because it didn't fit they would send you one that did with next day shipping or something.

It will fit, that's the one I bought from autozone before I learned that oem is better than aftermarket parts generally. That being said I haven't had any issues with the gasket leaking just make sure u get some rtv into the corners to help seal it.

Do not over tighten. It is very easy to crack the Valve Cover with the thick gasket.
