Kinugawa 20g notice on shut down

I have a td06sl2 20g that makes a noise at shut down I've never heard on a journal bearing turbo before.
It doesn't make any odd noise when driving and in boost, has zero shaft play and spools up good and made good power on the dyno 392/412 pump gas which trapped 119.76mph
I called Kinugawa to discuss this odd noise and explained it seems to work fine but the noise concerns me. Well to their credit they sent me out a new chra to swap in and send mine back.
I swapped in the new one and no change. Sounds the same when you shut the car down.
I'm post 2 videos of the sound. First is the turbo I sent back second is the turbo I just put on.

Anyone else with a Kinugawa turbo have this sound when you shut the car off?

It almost sounds like the wheel is touching the compressor housing. Know you said that when running all seems fine, what about if your car is idling and parked does it make the slightest of noises or say if you were to rev it up by the TB to see if the turbo makes any odd noises? When driving I would think that it would be hard to hear over the engines noise. When watching your video it doesn't sound really bad.

Does not make any noises like this when running. I checked the wheels when I pulled the old chra out and they were perfect. I've had a wheel start rubbing the housing when it went bad and it would scream like a siren when it spooled up.

Low on oil? Gunk in the oil line? Do these turbo get oil off the head? Sounds like one of my old old turbos. Was a JB T3/T4 that started to make that noise. In my case, it was getting oil off a oil filter sandwich plate, and there was mass gunk/shavings stuck therefore limited oil to the turbo.

I wouldnt say that noise is normal. Its either not getting oil or one of the wheels is diggin into the housing.

Fresh oil change ( brad penn ) and the second video is it running for 2minites then shut off.
I would agree it doesn't seem normal except it is like this on 2 indenticle brand new turbos with no miles on them. This sound is right from the start on both.

The first one I ran for about 3 months before I decided to contact them and discuss it. When I removed the chra after 3 months of hard driving there was still zero shaft play and no sign of anything rubbing. The noise just bothered me enough to try and get it warrantied. Which they did. Sent me a new chra 2 day priority with a return label to send the other back. And it acts exactly like the other. Just a bit perplexed.

Posting from my phone so please excuse typos.

there is a plate on the exhaust turbine housing that if the turbo isn't put together correctly will rub, just a thought.
between exducer and chra

It's crazy that you swapped the cartridge and its still making the noise, as I'm sure you know. It sounds to me like my old stock IX turbo sounded right before the journal bearing went out on it and seized up. I agree with a previous poster saying oil feed tube issues. Have you taken a long screw driver and put the round end in your ear and place the other end of it on the turbo to try and locate the exact place the sound is coming from? It is completely possible its not the turbo at all seeing as how the chra swap did nothing to fix the noise. Too bad you can't easily swap in a different compressor cover just for kicks and see if it helps.

I have not tried the long screwdriver stethoscope yet.
I don't see what else besides the turbo could be the cause of the noise.
I don't see how the oil feed is a problem. Is a completely new stainless line and new fittings.

The one I took off made this sound from the start and when I took it off a few months later there was still no shaft play. Very puzzling.

I believe it's the throw out bearing. If I push the clutch once the car shuts down and I can here the noise it immediately goes away.

possible the tob,but being a pull type system on the clutch seems odd unless not adjusted correctly

I like this as the source of the noise. I listened to the video like 20 times and I knew that noise sounded familiar. I used to have a quartermaster twin disk with a hydraulic throw out bearing that made the exact same noises. It also chattered and sounded ridiculously loud. I realise that we don't drive Cadillacs here but it was just too much for a daily driver. I swapped it out for an ACT HD and went back to a standard throw out bearing and I've never had any noises or a single issue with the new clutch.
