Good stock frame turbo

I'm sure this has been beat up like crazy but I'm looking to get a larger turbo and bigger numbers on my car, but I don't want to loose a massive amount of spool up that my 9 turbo has. I've looked at map ef3, fp red, gt3071r and the gt3076r. I would like to keep it stock frame. Anyone run any of these? I just wanted some real life numbers and reliability issues they may or may not have thanks

I am personally running the FP black on a buschur 2.0L but it is a bit laggy. I would look into the FP Green for faster spool. Also it really depends what your plans are for the car.

Just be aware that the new fp turbos are no longer a "stock Frame" turbo. They now come with a new housing that requires an external wastegate and a new downpipe. I'm not going to comment on how good or bad of a thing that is, but it is something to take into consideration when you are looking for your new turbo.

The best stock frame turbos that produce more power than stock but still retain stock-ish spool are the BBK Full, MAP EF2, MAP EF2.5, FP 71HTA, FP Green 73HTA, and the FP DBB Green. As mentioned Forced Performance doesn't offer their turbos with the stock twin scroll housing anyore and have a new housing in the works so you're best bet is to try and find a used one if you wanted to go the FP route. Other than that every turbo I mentioned will get you a lot more power while still retaining pretty quick spool.

If you don't mind a wait time you can send in your 9 turbo and get it modded into a fp green or red for pretty cheap again there will just be some down time.

The down time doesn't bother me I'm just kind of hung up on which turbo to go to. My plans are to still be able to daily drive it as well as the occasional autocross. My current tune is around 370 or so but I would love to be in the mid 400's and not sacrifice a bunch of spool. I've been leaning toward a MAP turbo but I read both negative and positive reviews on them. That's what made me look at the Garrett gt3071r or 76r stock frame but I can't find hardly any reviews on them. Basically I want the best of both worlds not laggy and as much as horse power as possible lol

Check out the BBK-BB-B as well......a little more pricey but more power than the BBK-full and spool is very close.

Here's a question that should of been asked at the beginning, are you planning on running on pump gas or E85?!

Yeah, I think it is $850 to go from OEM IX turbo to JB green or red.

71HTA is bang for Buck leader if you have a 9 turbo already. That's what I would buy if I was in your shoes. If it is an upgrade they use your current turbine housing.

I have one for sale $925 shipped. I have the 02 housing as well if you want that.

This is one of the fastest spooling turbos that can get you up to 500 hp.

It spools faster than a 9 turbo and I was on e85 32-33psi making 505whp and 485wtq.
