Timing my evo 8

Ok I'm waiting to get my new shortblock in. I have my head all ready to go I have arp head studs and a new head gasket. I want to see if there is anyone with some pictures that could explain to me how to put it in time. I checked the timing belt change but it didn't seem understandable. I understand that the cam marks line up with valve cover? And the oil pump sprocket has a mark along with the crank. Please can someone explain the process thanks

You line up the arrows on the pulleys with the marks on the engine side.

do you have any of the timing belt tools? make sure to pull the bolt for the inspection hole and put the screwdriver in when lining everything up. the only issues I had was trying to tighten down the tensioner pulley with the tool and it snapped. I was able to get it with a crow bar from underneath but too tight and everything was off a tooth. ripped it all back down and got it just tight enough before pulling the pin out.

You don't need to put a screwdriver in the balance shaft inspection hole. Just twist the oil sprocket clockwise or counter clockwise. If it falls towards the timing mark then the balance shaft is fine, if it falls away from the timing mark then the balance shaft is 180 out
