Engine oil help

Hi everyone. Yes, another thread about oils LOL but i need some info here.

im on plans to change mi engone oil, right now im using VR1 20w50 but is getting a little hard to find it (i live in Venezuela) so right now is a easy for me to find here Motul 300v Power (5w-40) and LeMans (20w-60) but i cant find good info about this oil in the forum.

A good shop here in venezuela use in his evo's the LeMans series but that 20w-60 is not to much?? We have temp around 86F-95F all the year so wich one should be better??

My evo has a fully build engine!

Thanks a lot!

20W60 WOW!!! I have never heard of that before. You are bordering on gear oil weight. I have never heard of running this heavy weight of oil in the engine.

Mind you I'm just another with an opinion that may not be what you need but I have never run anything more than 50W in the crank case. That just seems to be way too much but what do I know? Right now I run 10W 40 in mine no problems. You shouldn't need the heavy weight unless your motor is junk even then it's too thick for my likes.

I see you are in Venezuela also. I wouldn't think that matters much of anything. Just how built is your engine also?

Good luck with your choice.

Me engine was build with factory specs (i build it with a brand new block) so all is factory forged? lol. Also my engine only have 8k miles since i build it

And yes thats the reason why im ask... it seem so much, maybe if my engine was build for track ONLY but no... some road racing and normal drive for me old evo 5 lol

Use a 10w30 if you're still stock block, you'll be fine.
