Ok I need some help.i changed out my stock lifters for a set of gsc no tick lifters and now the valves stay slightly open. This is on my Evo 8 with an Ams race head and tomei cams. Has anyone else had a problem with the gsc lifters?

 

A friend had the same problem on his car so I sent him oem lifters and it fixed everything. I haven't had time to research but iirc they are taller for some reason. OEM is all I've ever used on 800+ hp 4g63's.

Yea even fully bleed of oil they still push the valves open. I guess I need to find some stock lifters.

 

You need to bleed them correctly.

 

They are bleed correctly. I talked to Gsc yesterday and they informed me that I need to trim down my valve stem for them to fit. I'm not going to do that so the oem are going back in.

 

read the link provided first---then if you look around there are some larger bore stock 4g63 lifters out there that work fine as well. I used them on a cam install they worked great --that was some years ago
