Yes big difference, the clutch engagement is instantaneous and predictable.

i just read on here that removing the pill will help with the longevity of the clutch but will put strain on the drivetrain? is that true?

The pill limits the shock that the drivetrain can receive from a bad take-off/launch by restricting how fast it can clamp. By removing it, it means it all depends on the driver's handling of the clutch how much shock the drivetrain takes. If you engage the clutch smoothly, I see no reason it would cause additional strain.

If you keep launching and dumping the clutch then yes and yes it will help your clutch life by a big margin.

Wow! Have same clutch (sprung), same issue, same smell. I did the install myself and I do this for a living so I'm not a noob except for the Evo, but I took my time with it.

I thought it was my adjustment so I re-checked several times. Smell was much worse during break in period, but has tapered off somewhat. Thought the interior might be absorbing some of the smell as well.

Think I'll try removing the pill and see if that helps some more. Thanks guys.
