Hi. I'm looking for an ayc pump for my evo 9 and found someone selling this, and just wanted to check it will fit my evo 9 even though it came off an 8 GSR because it doesn't look exactly the same as some of the evo 9 ayc pics I've seen

dont see it very clearly.. could be a single solenoid pump for RS models actually.. but if it is from a 8 GSR then it will work on 9 GSR

 

Mine is a uk evo IX q fq-340. I'm not convinced that's the right ayc tbh. The ones I've seen for the 9 have a big brass looking ball thing on the end, and that one doesn't have it

 

no, this looks exactly like a E9 pump.. the only question is if it is a 3 port pump, or a single port pump.... if it really is from a GSR, then it is a 3 port pump and perfectly fit for a E9 GSR...

if it is a single port pump, then it will be fit for cars that have only ACD... if it is a 3 port pump it will be for cars with ACD and AYC (which is what GSR's have)

 

I've been under the car and there's still a bit of pipework and the connector that I guess connected to the old pump, so would that mean this is what I want?

 

yes, probably.. ask the vendor to send you the pics from the other side of the pump... so that you can see if it has 3 or just 1 port.

also, is the pump in working order?

 

Ok, will do. I've already emailed the mechanic who's working on my car, so he will hopefully he will let me know before it sells. He only tunes Evo's so I trust his judgement. Apparently it's working fully but i will get it a rebuild anyway. I'm getting a lot of work done and I just want it all sorted tbh

Yeah he said it's a 3 port. Is that the one I want then? It's an evo 9 MR fq-340 so I guess so

have the points where solenoids enter the pump body covered in heavy grease.. that should stop water getting in..

 

I've got an evo specialist doing a load of work to it, it's in safe hands but thanks anyway
