Fuel Smell

Got my timing belt done couple weeks ago. Decide to wait until i reached 250 mile before i decide to do any hard driving.

Reached my desired miles today and gave it a go, first impression was as expected but did notice an abnormal amount of fuel smell from inside the cabin. I've researched and it looks like i'll need to take a look at the injectors seals and fuel pump. Anybody else want to chime in?

How often does the fuel pump and fuel injectors seal goes out, and how do i test or know that i have a faulty one.
Might be a dumb question but did the 60k service might have anything to do with this?

Fuel smell could be from leaky injectors.has nothing to do with timing belt unless they been rocking fuel rail back and forth .all you can do is grab a flash light ,let the car idle and look for fuel puddles on intake manifold if you don't see it spraying to the sides.

So it wasn't fuel i was smelling. It was oil.

Popped my hood and there were oil everywhere on intake mani and injectors area. What was the cause, NO OIL CAP.

A. Stolen from my car because i leave it unattended a lot in my garage with garage door open and hood pop when im doing other stuff around the house.

B. Simply fell off during a drive somewhere. Distinctively remember hearing something falling and ricochet in engine compartment and falling off to highway.

Any recommendation what engine cleaner to use and what and whatnot to cover up during spray. Assuming its okay to spray the engine compartment.
